  • 01st December - World AIDS Day: World AIDS Day, observed annually on 1 December since 1988, aims to raise awareness of the AIDS epidemic caused by the spread of HIV infection, and to mourn those who have died from the diseases. 
  • 02nd December - National Pollution Control Day: National Population Day is celebrated on 2nd December because the Bhopal gas tragedy took place on 2-3 December 1984 and this day is celebrated in the memory of the people who lost their lives in it. This gas tragedy in Bhopal is one of the deadliest industrial pollution disasters in history.

  • 11th December - UNICEF Foundation Day :  The initial purpose of establishing the United Nations Children'sFund for UNICEF was to provide food and health service to the children of nations destroyed in World War II , It was established by the General Assembly of the United Nations on December 11,1946.
  • 11th December - International Mountain Day :  Its objective is to raise awareness about the relevance of mountain ecosystems. The  United Nations Headquarters in New York launched the international year of mountain on 11 december 2001. Later , in 2002, the international Year of mountain was celebrated with the aim of raising awareness and initiating action on the issues. 
  • 16th December - Vijay Divas : India had won over Pakistan in the 1971 war on 16 December . India celebrates this day by day by paying tribute to Indian Soldiers who won the historic war . 
  • 19th December - Goa’s Liberation Day :  After a signing on December 19,1961,the Portuguese rule over Goa ended and since then, Goa Liberation Day is celebrated every year on December 19.
  • 22nd December - National Mathematics Day : Every Year 22 December is celebrated as National Mathematics Day in India . This day is celebrated on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan , who loved mathematics .  
  • 23rd December - Kisan Divas : National Farmers Day is celebrated every year in India on 23 December on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the country’ s fifth Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh . He was the Prime Minister of the country from 1979 to1980. In such a short tenure, he had run many programs for the welfare of farmers.
  •  25th December - Good Governance Day (India) : Good Governance Day is celebrated every year in India on 25 December as the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
